A4 Avant 1.9Tdi (130) Quattro 6 spd

Anyone got any experience of these motors?

looking for an economical replacement for the WRX Wagon and have seen a couple of these with RS4 wheels on em. both are 52 plates with about 90k on them.

also looking at 3 series touring diesels.

cheers

will

The rs4 wheels are to be avoided. Either cheap reps or soft originals. Either way the car wasn't designed for either and the ride/handling will be compromised.

Other than that not a bad choice although in many ways you may as well get a 4motion passat diesel if you can find one and save money.

Good cars but the big service, belts and tensioner replaced can be expensive so check to see if its been done(again) at those miles.

I have an A4 1.9 TDi Avant Sport and it's a very good car.:luxhello: I wouldn't bother with the Quattro unless you really need 4WD as it blunts perofrmance and MPG. I have had mine chipped so it now produces circa 180Bhp and 240 lb/ft torque which is more than enough for normal family use. I still get on average 620miles to a tank of supermarket diesel which equates to approx. 45mpg average.:notworthy Check the Service History to see if it's on LongLife service plan or not. The service interval will depend upon how car is driven/deterioration of oil etc. and on longlife I am seeing 16k miles between services! I am sure more wear and tear must take place following this plan but to be honest i've not had any problems. Big service, Cam belt etc. is at 60k miles.

I bought ours as the family wagon and it does that superbly. Our daughter sits safely in the back with ISOFIX fittings and we can sling the buggy, changing bag etc. in the back and still have room for the shopping. Aso meant that I didn't have to join the MPV club! <shudder>:freak3: :(

You are right to shudder, cant compare our Sharan to a A4, cost pretty much the same but the A4 is much nicer to drive, father in law has a newish auto 2.5 diesel, nice but it doesnt feel any quicker than my mates 130 ?

I've got an A6 TDi avant if you want to swap?

The wife used to have a A6 2.5 TDI avant - audi's are fantastic cars, excellent quality and great to drive. She now has a Honda people mover <shudder> :D
