Bloke has just brought this puzzle into my office and the challenge is to remove the nail. :Suspiciou

Anyone any ideas? There's certainly no signs of tampering and the nail through the block of wood is as straight as a die.

So what are the rules? cant you just saw one end of the wood off and pull the nail out? :D

Boil the E shape softwood , clamp upper section real tight, drill hole for nail and insert nail at middle section, unclamp and re boil. :thumb:

Is the nail threaded, i.e. unscrews in to 2 parts but the join is hidden becuase of the wood?

Chuck it on the fire. Remove nail once cold.
