Hargreaves to United

Looks like he could be on his way.

Would be a very good signing

TimWRX01 16 August 2006 02:22 PM

A decent signing definitely.

Not really concrete though, I'd say about 10% chance of it actually going through.

Funkii Munkii 16 August 2006 03:21 PM

i'd been hoping this may happen for some time, wanted him over Senna any day (all that speculation has quietened down for now), but as Tim says it doesn't look like it will happen BM certainly don't want to sell him, probably means we'll have to pay over the top again, which they wont do twice in a season, I reckon Hargreaves is itching to make the move, he'll have to pop in a transfer request.

If Hargreaves is serious about getting a regular place in the England team then it would be a great benefit for him to play in England.

davegtt 16 August 2006 04:22 PM

Especially paired with Carrick ;)

Moley 16 August 2006 05:24 PM

Shame we let RVN go to Madrid, could have done a swap

G-STAR 16 August 2006 05:37 PM

I'm 90% sure it'll happen, considering the statements made.

A very good move, in my opinion, and nice to see we're still buying English (or fairly close, at least ;)).

Torres or Tevez will complete the jigsaw. :D

16vmarc 16 August 2006 06:33 PM

I'd love this to happen, been reading the rumours with interest for months now! According to reports though, the Munich boss isn't interested in selling him

G-STAR 16 August 2006 10:39 PM

I would have preferred either Diarra or Mascherano, but with Diarra seemingly on his way to Madrid, and Mascherano earmarked as Makelele's replacement at Chelsea (plus the MSI/Abramovich implications), I'll gladly accept Hargreaves.

Gutmann pug 17 August 2006 08:10 AM

Its quite ironic really, an English side having to go to another country to buy a decent English player.

Gav 17 August 2006 10:10 AM

Would be a great buy, just need Torres now. Treble anyone;)

Yes Please :D

i'd like to see Hargreaves in a devil's shirt he could be a valuable asset to the club :thumb:. i dont think BM will let him go, they've already lost Ballack

G-STAR 17 August 2006 11:07 AM

Never fear, he's on his way. :)

As above, if we bring in either Torres or Tevez, I think we'll have a very good squad, for a very long time.

TimWRX01 17 August 2006 12:57 PM

I still don't think we'll get him.

We desperately need another striker too and I don't think we will get one before the deadline ends.

We should have had a look at that Klaas Jan Huntelaar before he made his international debut.

As I've said, I'm very confident we'll see him at United, as I think Bayern will now struggle to keep hold of him - I guess time will tell.

Quite the pessimist, Tim? :wonder:

I'm not confident whatsoever in landing a striker, but I wouldn't rule it out.

We got a close look at Huntelaar when he played against us in the Amsterdam tournament, and he did very little of note, apart from missing a penalty. However, he's one for the future.

You're not doing too badly. ;)

pauld37 17 August 2006 07:42 PM

Back to serious stuff :).

Hargreaves will be a fantastic buy for you, especially with Carrick in there too, he showed in the world cup and last nights game that he gives his all for the full 90 mins. :thumb:

I went to Poole last year. It was really nice.

I see we've still not bought Hargreaves, the longer it goes on the less chance of it happening.

Gav 18 August 2006 09:42 AM

Supposed to be big things happening today i believe:)
