feeling the styling of the later 5 & 6's they look fresher, did the ver4 have the facelift later on that year b4 the ver5 came out as i have seen some for sale with new bumpers. is this standard or owners preferance.

stevie1982 29 July 2006 07:35 PM

james love your car mate great colour, so you managed to sell your uk turbo then did. i am in the process of doing the same sold my classic bought 02wrx but miss the rawness of the classic so going back. always liked tha later versions too.

James Neill 29 July 2006 07:38 PM

UK Turbo is all but sold. Have someone coming all the way down from Scotland next weekend to pick it up. Which is a bit bizarre as I bought the STi 6 a few weeks back from another guy in Scotland.

v4 didn't have the face lift, it first came with the v5. Although some people do it themselves so that probably explains what you've seen.

v5 and v6 are almost identical. One way to tell is the spoiler, but the better test is the clutch start in a v6 (ie, you can't start a v6 unless you have the clutch down).

stevie1982 29 July 2006 08:20 PM

guys could i ask what you are all paying on your insureance if youi could tell me your age and ncb, i just run a uk model at the moment and had a classic uk turbo i was paying around a £1000 at 23 with 4yrs ncb. so what are you all paying

banny sti 29 July 2006 08:23 PM

i am paying £1500 fully comp on my sti 3 at 23 with 4 yrs ncb with A plan

doug2507 29 July 2006 08:26 PM

Had a claim last year so ncb is out the window. Quote with all mods declared (even bushes!) and power output in the region of 450bhp+, like for like, was £1500 for the 1st year. (Extensively modified & 2.5). Age-27. Keith Michaels.

stevie1982 29 July 2006 08:27 PM

guys what level of cover i am guessing fully comp am i right

doug2507 29 July 2006 08:30 PM

Yes, fully comp. 3rd party's a waste of money IMO.

James Neill 29 July 2006 08:50 PM

Fully comp. Insured through A-Plan, £940, 32yo, 1yr NCB.

doug2507 29 July 2006 08:55 PM

Have a read through the insurance section and you'll find out what a whole load of people are paying. that type of thread comes up every now and again...
