How useless is your bank???

Natwest are USELESS....

our business account branch in london docklands have told us that we never paid in 8 of the 9 cheques that were HANDED over the counter to them last week... :cuckoo: now they say that THEY have lost them and can we get the cheques cancelled by our customers and replaced.... :brickwall some of them we have been chasing for months for the payment and TBH i doubt we could get another that quickly....

time for our second complaint now....

I bank with natwest to, they are fantastic with me.

have 3 accounts all in all (both business & personal) and I would never leave them, have accounts with other banks and don't find them anywhere near as good as natwest.

Suppose we can all have bad experiences.

chop :)

1)MOST customers used to use the staff carpark when they went there. untill 3 months ago when they clamped anything that ventured in there... ours happened to cost £180 to get removed... the cheeky a****** put signs up AFTER we complained and gave us HALF the money towards removal....
2) as above....:cuckoo:

Spec'c'57 28 June 2006 01:31 PM

oh and the day we got clamped was the day ALL our accounts were GOING to be transfered to natwest.... :nono: not anymore....

I will never use Natwest ever again. That's all you need to know.

The Knives are out 28 June 2006 01:47 PM

Did they stamp the paying in book?

If so

Its down to them !

I've banked with Lloyds (pre TSB days), NatWest, Barclays, First Direct and Nationwide

Although I've had issues with all but Nationwide, NatWest are by far the worst bank by a country mile.

They consistently come last in customer satisfaction surveys as well.

Unless of course you are nothing but happy with them.

My PA manager has massive jugs too. :thumb:

I use Lloyds for my two business accounts and one personal account and have been very pleased with the service so far. The best thing is when I ring them I get straight through to a native English speaker based in the UK :thumb:

I took a temporary loan out once with IF (Intelligent Finance), decided to pay it back early a few months later and had an outstanding balance of about £5k left on the loan.

I arranged a bank transfer from my othr account at Barclays, and was given all the necessary account/reference numbers by the person at IF. Barclays duly transferred the £5k and it disappeared from my Barclays account.

A week or so later I still hadn't had confirmation from IF that my account had been settled, so I gave them a call. They had no record of my £5k ever arriving, and basically said they hadn't recieved anything.

Their advice was "try sending the money again sir".

I had to explain I'd already sent them £5k which had disappeared into thin air, and I'd rather not send another £5k for them to lose!

They only got it sorted when I had Barclays write them a letter confirming the transfer from their end, as soon as they had that - they suddenly "found" my money sitting in their main account but hadn't been processed to settle my loan.

It was pretty stressful, sending a main bank £5k and having them just lose it!

HSBC are absolutely awful. Had loads of simple problems with them last year which they couldn't resolve for months.

I am too and think they are excellent. RBS are like Rolls Royce of the car world.Natwest, HSBC, Lloyds are like Ford. Just run of the mill production line banks. If that makes sense.:wonder:

You stalking me Paul:Suspiciou;)

HSBC is utter ****e - avoid!!! All their call centers are in India - and they seem to employ only Indians with VERY strong accents who are almost impossible to understand!

Had various other problems with them, and will be transferring to Nationwide at some point.

Nationwide only use UK call centers, and also you dont get charged a fee for withdrawing money abroad! (unlike all the other banks who charge ~3%)

Royal Bank of Scotland don't do call centres. You ring you local Bank direct and speak to the same people you deal with when in the bank.

I agree fully with the above statement, was originally with Barclays and they were the biggest bunch of tossers on planet earth, i should repeat that with in THE GALAXY :brickwall

Would not leave Natwest and am happy as Larry, whoever the hell he is :notworthy

Raz.

Spec'c'57 28 June 2006 04:11 PM

when we changed from barclays to natwest they were gr8 but have since changed manager etc and gone down hill @ the docklands branch. altho im told another has opened near canary wharf which might be why.....

PeteT 28 June 2006 05:07 PM

Agree about the HSBC call centres, I'm sure they are all lovely people but over a long distance phone line they can be literally impossible to comprehend.
I would change my account but the thought of all the hassle puts me off.

MooseRacer 28 June 2006 05:13 PM

Co-Operative al;l the way for me - after hainv been with Barclays & HSBC they are a breat of fresh air!

RussBoy 28 June 2006 05:22 PM

I can't whinge too much about my Bank (Barclays) - opened a business account there 5 years ago in Surrey and married the branch manager there 1 year later...bet you lot don't get the level of customer satisfaction I've had ;)

MooseRacer 28 June 2006 05:24 PM
