HELP BATTERY OVERCHARGING

Cars in for an mot and the battery is overcharging. The cars been sitting for 6months off the road but it drove the 60miles to the garage fine yesterday. Apparently when they started it this morning the battery started spraying acid:( :( :(
What could be causing this?

Fluid levels in the battery too low?

I once sat on a taxi rank in my minicab days, and the taxi behind me got a call. As he started his engine, his battery EXPLODED!

Apparently cuased by too low a fluid level.

I got his run too, and it was a £13 job!:D
