As the a box can play games in HD, does it upscale DVD's to HD?

You will be able to buy an add on for the xbox 360 that will play HD DVD's though in the not so near future

I bet the LG standalone player would be quieter than the 360 though ;)
Probably cheaper than the 360 HD-Drive add-on as well :( |
Upscaled DVD's aren't the same as HD-DVD though. I'm also thinking of plumping for an upscaling player to go with my LCD for now. It's only a 26" screen though so I'm not sure I'll notice much improvement on the 360's (576p?) progressive scan DVD playback via component. What do people think? (sorry for hijacking slightly!)
