1.17Ah, the Anderson connector is a safety precaution, car starts better than my two road cars with the wee battery, Apexi management from Andy and MAFSIM from Andrew Carr.
2. 740cc (again supplied by Andy... common theme coming out here)
3. Yes
4. Yes'ish same pistons

Mark, specifics can be had by PM.

P.S. the run in the first post was shambolic, really struggled with the bite point of the new clutch and fluffed the start. Missed 2nd - 3rd change because I'd been mucking about with shims on a gear linkage modification, and had to lift of before crossing the 1/4 still ended in 11.16 with a fat boy sat in a production seat on the wrong side of the car.
I'm so looking forward to hooking this all up and doing it (and Andy's efforts) some justice.

Mark A 11 April 2006 11:11 PM

Was the battery taken from a golf kart etc or is it a proper motorsport one

John Stevenson 11 April 2006 11:28 PM

Mark it's a gell battery, but a standard lead acid would do just as well as long as it's not in the car with you. I took the battery out of my old Start/Charge and I'm going to see if that will work as a backup all you need is something that can crank the car, once it's started the alternator should supply what you need, I'll let you know.

Mark A 11 April 2006 11:32 PM

Searching E-bay for one now

Is it 50 or 175 amp the Anderson plug?

John Stevenson 12 April 2006 12:19 AM

Came out of a UPS I stripped down at work as it was dead. It's the bigger one ;)

911 12 April 2006 07:26 AM

There was a group buy on these small motorsport batteries on 22B as Gerry Houghton bought one for his road car/daily driver to give room for the FMIC tubes.

His 2,5 starts really well, much better than my Sti with a truck sized battery fitted.
Graham.

John, did you ever get the car weighed? interested to see what you got it down to

John Stevenson 12 April 2006 05:59 PM

Hi Kev, I'm weighing it tomorrow, but I don't have half the stuff out yet so it won't be much lighter than it was 1080kg

John Stevenson 12 April 2006 11:02 PM

More Pics, thanks to Scoobay

:thumb: i'm almost at the stage where i might weigh mine, getting stuck for things to bin now :lol1:

what's with the big scoop when you've got the FMIC?

John Stevenson 12 April 2006 11:40 PM

The big scoop just hasn't been deleted yet, the original intention was to use it with a panel filter as the feed to the turbo.

911 13 April 2006 07:10 AM

Free water injection on a wet Scottish hill climb?
My top scoop is currently cooling the 'cold' pipe from the FMIC to the inlet...

Spec sheet for the car?

Graham.

andy97 13 April 2006 11:01 AM

Graham,

Have you thought of adding a finned heat sink around the ic pipe?

drb5 13 April 2006 12:37 PM

Next time your on MSN John, i've got a few pics for you to browse. ;)

Not the dirty ones though! :D

tfl55 14 April 2006 03:54 PM

Splitter

John, where did you get the front lip splitter from? :norty: Not seen one like that before.

cmpequeno 14 April 2006 06:24 PM

It looks like a Jun front lip spoiler... wich wheel/tire are you running with?

John Stevenson 17 April 2006 10:19 PM

Fibreglasscopy of JUN, Wheels on the car are Rota Torq 17x8 shod with 235/40/17 Dunlop Formula Rs (D01J)

cmpequeno 17 April 2006 10:23 PM

17x8? do you know the ET? did you have to the significant changes to the fenders? sorry for all the questions...

John Stevenson 17 April 2006 10:35 PM

No bother, a litle rolling of the rears, lots of camber tucks them under the arches nicely. Did have to run very short springs on the rear to raise the spring seats above the tyre.

cmpequeno 21 April 2006 07:20 PM

another one :) john, do you know how much you lowered the car?

Mark A 21 April 2006 08:00 PM

Are you planning to race at night? just wondering why the PIAAs

Mark, they are only covers, there are no lights behind there.

Carl, he's out at Doune tomorrow too. I'll be at alford, Fintray and Boyndie, assuming a baby expected 5-6 weeks hence doesn't interfere.
