Alarm Systems
Looking to get an alarm system installed and I was going to go for BT Redcare Grade 2 but I've been quoted a monitoring system at least £500 cheaper then Recare but its monitored by http://www.menviersecurity.co.uk/
Can anybody recommend Menvier or should I stick to Redcare? |

Is this for your house? If so, I got a great system for £10 from ebay, it's basically an empty alarm cover that you screw to the wall. That way, no-one burgles you as they think you have an alarm and you don't annoy the neighbours when it keeps going off. :)

Its for a shop
|
If the shops not far away get one that phones your mobile for a few hundred £££
|
insurance requires Redcare
|
Get Redcare then :p
;) |
if its anywhere near to where you live , Ray.. get a 'Rotty' too....

David :Suspiciou Don't you know :Whatever_ :lol1: Grade 2 comes under the "EN50131-1 regulation" which is used on all New Nacoss approved installed alarm systems(unless it's that crap company *** ) Rayli if you have to go redcare it will require a 16 channel stu and belive me it aint cheap and if your insurance company make you go grade 3, well fook me you all most have to have a car battery in the alarm panel, due to you used to be able to get away with 8 hours battery backup now on grade 3 it has to be 60 hours  but can be reduced if the controls monitor and sends mains failure comms to the monitoring station All new systems that require a police URN number have to comply with EN50131-1 Redcare is crap anyway :D you need Dualcom far far better as when the local BT numptie fannys around in the exchange it buggers the Redcare up  Rayli if you can get away with go for a Digicom on a Grade 2X IIRC far cheaper than redcare or Dualcom Hux |

I don't know anymore :( On you qoute you should have a list telling you what the Point are in the alarm as in "point 1 = Front Door,Point 2 = Shop area front and so on? do you know how many there is on that list? As for the cost of the monitoring you should be able to get the price down a little bit with some haggling(sp) with the alarm company, I know it's a pain but get at least 4 quotes from Local companies and avoid that well known 3 letter company " trust me on that one" Have a look here for approved installers http://www.nsi.org.uk/jkcm/default.asp?pg=16 Hux |

The quote on the top isn't that bad
From the list thats there it's a pretty good quote :thumb: I would just find out if they are and should be using any anti masking detectors, as they are and will be a pain in the arse  as we know as some of the new ones to comply with the EN regs don't work very well  our compay is waiting compensation from two detector manufacturers for faulty goods and the time spent getting them changed !! But as for the bottom one avoide like the plague as it will be hassle and the system is normally a rental system not an outright sale!!!! and tied in for 4 years or 6 years   If you PM me you number I'l give you a call in the morning sometime and try and help with any more details Hux |
