Power Fc or ECUTEK
Decat exhaust Uprate fuel pump Uprate fuel pressure regulator STI panel filter About 1400 for the above new but will safely see 300+ Knocklink Air Fuel Ratio meter Dawes device About 200 for the above new but will dodgily see you to 300 |
can't see the standard UK MY00 turbo doing 300bhp at either star or dastek. learned a while ago never to say something is not possible as then someone manages it.
knocklink a must if you try , especially on the standard top mount inter cooler which will be struggling to keep the intake temp down , before detting with hard use. |
Yer and replacing turbo with a TD05 doesn't even always help break the 300 barrier.

if you plan to track the car , chase motorbikes or do top speed runs I would go for a fmic . many get good results using a newage top mount but I do not know how it would cope with a flogged turbo, lap after lap on track.
standard reg with new Walboro 255 l/h fuel pump upgrade will be fine. I would look for a vf28 (P1/sti) turbo as a nice turbo on a UK engine. edit to add bit about newage top mount |
Full decat exhaust
Powertec induction kit TD05 FE turbo Uprated fuel pump FSE Apexci pcf HKS EVC 5 boost controller Mapped by Andy F and achieved 320 bhp with 300 torque. Used just over 95% of injector capacity (380's) and retained standard tmic. No det at all on knocklink (1.3 boost) TD04 restricted power on mine to 294 bhp for reference. Car was UK97 turbo HTH Rob |
Stock TD04 will not relaibly make this power. Better fit a hybrid TD04, vf34/35 or a TD05. Especially if keeping stock TMIC. A remap should be included too.

If you do go for the VF35 turbo remember to get the wastegate ported so you wont suffer from "boost creep"
Newage top mount STi intercooler should be good for approx 420bhp so would be fine for your 300. If your anywhere close to Glasgow speak to Willy at Meercat custom exhausts or Bill or Colin Greer at Greersport for advice, both are top notch Meercat exhausts - http://www.meercat-exhausts.com/home.htm Greersport - http://www.greersport.com/ my turbo back system from them was £550 made and fitted Graeme |
You'll struggle to hit 300BHP with the TD04.
Change it to a VF24, VF28 or VF29 if you are bothered about spool. If your not so bothered then VF22, VF23, TD05, TD05/06 I'm running between 309 & 320 depending on air temp with a VF28 @ 1.3bar on an MY00 UK |
