I need to change my radiator as its leaking, where is the best place to get one from and what coolant will i require? Its a 1997 wrx sti import.

Thank you

ebay circa £100.

I got mine off someone called : radiator_specialists

got next day delivery and better quality than standard radiator.

Can vouch for them as well. Had one from the same place.

Doddle to fit and good quality.

Thanks for your help guys. How much antifreeze will i need and how much does the system hold?

Cheers

It depends on the anti freeze really and its concentration.

I normally put 1/3 antifreeze.

I put 2 liters in my system.

a classic will take about 7.5 litres if it is empty. Take time when refilling as it is easy to get air in the system and not so easy to get the air out. Whilst filling the system, keep giving the bottom rad hose a squeeze

Cheers for the all the info, will give this a try at the weekend.

How did you get on?

My radiator has just let go on my UK MY97, just wondering how you got on with the rad from radiator_specialists and how easy it was to replace and if you had to purchase any other replacement parts at the same time.

Hi mate, changing the rad was much easier then i thought. Just disconnected the bottom hose to drain all the coolant and took off all the other hoses. Un bolted the brackets holding the rad on. Disconnect the two fan plugs (bit tricky) then it just pulls out. I also stuck a hose pipe in the header tank and flushed all the old coolant through.

Hope that helps :)

Yup
