Latest registered Classic

I wondered what the latest registered Classic Impreza was. I thought the new age came out in 2000, but my Classic Wagon was registered in July 2001 (i.e. almost an 01 plate). Y-platers themselves are extremely rare.

Seen a few 51-plate classics for sale on Auto Trader also there are a few Impreza P1's that are 51-plates.:)

Didnt the last 51 plate classic come with a dash mounted plaque?

Most very late registered Classic 'Wagons were Mica Red; especially the 51s.

Seen one 51-plated classic. And I know there's a white-wheeled Y-plate near me, owned by a certain copier salesman...

My Classic was bought and registered 21.12.2001 - I have 2 V5's to prove!
Damn DVLA!

Well; they certainly had a lot of them left, but I wouldnt like to speculate as to why.....

Simon :)

Something to do with the new gen having been out for a year already and less wagon sales than hoped for.... but a PPP-ed Classic was always going to be preferable to me

International Motors were left with a glut of Mica Red MY '00 five door cars because they over-estimated the colours' popularity (it wasnt popular at all!).

surely that's just speculation ;)

That you speculating after all

GC8 20 January 2006 12:33 AM

I knew all along really; but I didnt want to offend anyone. :) Mica Red wasnt popular and IM were left with a large quantity still unsold after the New Age cars went on sale. The remainder of late registered Classics were P1s, (second release, very dear and mostly specced-up by greedy dealers) and a few cars sold from dealers remaining stock.
