remaps or chiping in north

hi guys, just bought a 04 wrx is there any where i can get a chip or a remap done that wont be a pile of crap.
just want a standard remap , or is it a prodrive dealer job .
its pure dung over here for this sort of thing

mad555 21 November 2005 09:39 PM

Why not get the dealer to fit PPP,keeps your warranty intact.

ustolemyname??stevieturbo 22 November 2005 12:10 AM

PPP does make a lot of sense, unless you want to tune the car a lot more and dont care much about warranty. But then that is a lot more expensive.

LegacySTi 22 November 2005 12:20 AM

depends how far ye wanna go???

curtis11 22 November 2005 05:51 PM

i have seen the dyno graphs on the ppp and they look pretty hard to beat .
cheers guys

curtis11 22 November 2005 05:54 PM

Closest to you would be Performance Subaru (mcKeary motors) in Coleraine, they I believe can do the PPP upgrade or Ecutek Remap.

Sounds like he's dealing with someone with a totally standard 04 WRX. Nice car, but it isnt exactly going to set the tarmac on fire, or even singe it.

Either way, racing on the public roads isnt a smart thing to do.

errrr..........i beg to differ

the smiley at the end means my comment was meant to be taken tongue in cheek but as you have decided to get arsey i feel i must comment.

so you have a standard 04 wrx, yes nice car but as stevie says ain't gonna set the world alight. FQ340 is gonna blow the doors off you. try taking it to a 1/4 mile track and you will see how slow they actually are. STi versions with 276 bhp are doing 1/4s in about 14 seconds, so how slow does that make your car!!

curtis11 28 November 2005 09:25 AM

i agree the standard wrx is not very quick, in fact my old a4 felt quicker but i know its not, i would expect 14.5 quarter . or maybe slightly less.
not that it matters as it will never be on the strip

bigsinky 28 November 2005 10:58 AM

don't know what you are missing. great fun and a bit of a rush waiting at the xmas tree with someone beside you. get to some of the events in england (TOTB, SSO, Japfest) to see some real fast rice rockets.

curtis11 28 November 2005 01:10 PM

i would love to try it,
how would the standard clutch hold up?
i dont think there is a 1/4 strip in the north , iam i wrong?

bigsinky 28 November 2005 01:27 PM

there was a 1/4 mile event run by straightliners at st angelo, down enniskillen way, this year. some big fat coont in a white subaru from belfast won it beating the Fensport Corolla. i think trevor from straightliners would like to do a couple of event over here next year.

standard clutch will be ok if you are running standard power.
