Rev light, shift light.............?
Please excuse the newbie STi owner question, but what do you people normally set the rev light and buzzer to activate at; ie, to keep the turbo spinning at optimum revs when you change up a gear ?
(I have tried a search on this BTW, but if you enter "rev" with "light", you get a million non-pertinent threads) Any advice much appreciated. :) |

Mine set at 5500rpm.No real need in a standard car to rev any higher than that.By the time youve changed gear its normally up to arounk 6000rpm.

Dexter,
I have MY05 STi set to go off at 6k, but then the car has only done just over 2k miles :) Andy |
I have MY04 STi set to go off about 6½k and find that it's not a real issue. You tend to drive the car to the situation, sometimes changing earlier or later depending on conditions and your driving mood.

Thanks for the replies gents.
I`ve had a play today, and I`ve now set it at 6800k, as, although the redline is further up, by the time you`ve reacted to the beep, you`re up around 7 anyway, and it`s time to change up. |
My v7 sti is set at 6500, on the r/r graph it shows the power diminishes after that, cheers Alan.
