Upgrades/mods. Easy or not?

I just wondered how others felt about this. The reason I asked is that my eldest lad's SEAT Ibiza got damaged in a car park, and he's got it in today for repairs, lasting until Thursday.

In the meantime, he decided to "upgrade" it with Cupra grilles, red backed twin headlights, and foglights.

Firstly, the grilles were dirt cheap: the biggest one was only £18, the smaller ones being only £5 each.

Secondly, the headlights were real "plug and play" bits, just remove the old, replace with the new, plug in the wiring loom, and away you go, dispite the new lights being twin jobbies and the old ones single.

Even the foglights were easy: All brackets, switches to replace old versions without front fogs (again, same loom) and an extra bit of loom, and even covers with holes for foglights, all in the kit.

Just compare the PITA it was to put a rear wash-wipe on my UK classic:(

Subaru: please take note.

yep, lower grille for my 55 WRX is gonna be £225- isn't it not much more than a bit of chicken wire?

and its also quite necessary to prevent radiator/aircon damage from stones

Yep, his foglight kit INCLUDED two new foglight covers with holes for the lights, and even chroming parts to ADD chrome to various grilles if you wanted to.

Just as an example, have a look at how hard/easy it is to fit driving lights, for example, on a Scoob, especially the newer ones........:(
