RB5 Mods almost completed

Simb,

I got some pics of the Autgauges I've installed in my car, there not brilliant.

3 Gauges wired to the power but only 1 works at the moment as I can't do the rest until the next service, which will be Friday.

Damn did you have to share that :brickwall :lol1:

matscooby 03 October 2005 07:23 PM

Go on Si you might as well spend the cash after buying the little bits you bought recently.

Also you 'll have to add £75 for the POD and £29 for the sandwich plate which is a shiny piece of stainless steel lump from Swoosh.

DannyBoy007 03 October 2005 07:26 PM

£65, I'll have a set, where from????

KJD Mk1 03 October 2005 07:34 PM

All of Ebay and all brand new, though I did buy the turbo gauge of 1 seller and 2 of another.

brianviautronic is one of the sellers which was delivered the next day and Autogaugeuk is the other, but beware it took 2 weeks to get the gauges and any emails from Autogaugeuk.

Silver Scooby Sport 03 October 2005 07:43 PM

Could do with sourcing the gauges all as one package....

me, dan simb and Kev ;) I wonder how much discount ?? lol

Fitting wasn't to bad, I got abit scared when taking the top glove box off and the facia otherwise quite easy.

In order you have to do the following :

Remove Top glove box lid
Remove Glove box ( Pull hard, very hard )
Remove passenger glove box
Remove electric mirror switch casing between Driver and passenger
Unscrew centre handbrake plastic casing around gearstick and handbrake and pull backwards no need to remove completely.
Pull off facia which includes stereo
wire upto cigerate lighter and ground off on chassis

All that should take about 2 to 3hr

Put the dashboard back together takes about 30min  don't ask me why, but it did.
Wire up gauges through drilled holes in the glove box base
screw on POD with screws supplied
makesure boost tube connected on gauge and T piece to the dumpvalve

Job done almost, all thats left to do is connect pressure sender and temp sender on next service which will take 5 minutes.

Thats where I had my last lot from but they were Autogauges and not Dynamix. I don't think theres much difference between the two though.

Consider some of the places around like scoobyworld or other places selling the gauges for £50 or more each is stupidly expensive, your better off buying them direct from above.

KJD Mk1 03 October 2005 08:09 PM

Matt i wouldnt mind a set of those but spanners are not my strong point:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

matscooby 03 October 2005 08:18 PM

Well if everybody gets a set, we'll have to make it a Sunday session again.

matscooby 03 October 2005 08:28 PM

Your on, Si, Dan, Simb get buying Kev's cooking. :notworthy

pippyrips 03 October 2005 08:58 PM

i could be tempted to get a set of these as well - do i hear group buy?

also exactly how accurate are they?

matscooby 03 October 2005 09:14 PM

My last set were acurrate, but then how do you tell whats accurate.

You only thing that I'm doing different this time is putting the oil pressure and oil temp on the underneath of the engine using the oil filter fitting using the swoosh plate from scoobyworld. This will apparently give you a better reading instead of taking the reading from top of cylinder 3.

Time will tell as they say.
