Driver training @ North Weald

There's a space left on the 11th of October if anyone is interested, I've booked a place, so thought I'd let you lot know, in case anyone else wants to play.

price is £170

Some details from the website:

http://www.carlimits.com/static/file...ing%20Days.jpg</FONT></FONT>Some of the Topics available are:
The use of the controls, smooth acceleration, modulated braking, rotational steering, cornering, balancing the car on the throttle, the use of trial braking, trail lifting, understeer, oversteer, lift-off oversteer, gear changing, heal and toe, skid control, spin avoidance and control techniques....
....to name but a few, along with some of the more entertaining, rather than educational, manoeuvres.

No one will be asked to do anything they are not happy with, except leave at the end!

The course has to be conducted in a safe controlled manner to ensure safety and enjoyment.

I've seen Spec C take corners and I don't mean the scoobynet kind ;)

The only reason I spun off at Silverstone was to provide the crowd with some entertainment, I meant to do it, 'onest:Whatever_

Can't wait for this, got a set of tyres lined up, ready to replace the ones on the car after they get ripped up and shredded :D

Phil, are you in league with Nate? as he's trying harder and harder to get me to go to Snetterton as well:D:D

You'll get to go round as a passenger in all of the above cars (and scare them in yours).

The S2000 has a real kick when changing from 2nd to 3rd at high revs :thumb:

Cornelius 19 September 2005 04:37 PM

Booked the day off, North Weald, here I come!! cant wait :D

Cornelius 09 October 2005 01:03 PM

2 days to go. can't wait, getting excited!! unfortunately, my old alloys don;t fit over the brake conversion:( and the weather is going to be dry, so looks like I'll have to get new tyres

Milamber 09 October 2005 02:27 PM

Hi Cornelius

I have never seen this thread before and would have loved to have gone! Bugger!
Do you use your car or one of theirs?
and how easy is it to book?

LeWi

@-LeWi-77 09 October 2005 03:38 PM

would be rude not to!!

x7 = £35

Cornelius 09 October 2005 04:10 PM

it's easy to book, go to

www.carlimits.com

register on the website,
go to diary to find a convienient date and book up,

there a short video on there which goes through some of the things they'll teach you.

You use your own car

Cornelius 11 October 2005 06:20 PM

what a day

Andy Walsh is something else!! can he handle a car!!!!:notworthy

I was there with a Lotus Elise, Honda S2000 and a Mazda MX5, crapped me pants a couple of times!!

You basically got to "unlearn" what you learnt for your driving test, and develop new techniques for steering, braking and accelerating.

I'm definately going again, perhaps next time we could do a ESC day!

Milamber 11 October 2005 06:44 PM

I KNEW you were gonna love it, how many times did you spin?

Cornelius 11 October 2005 06:55 PM

I only spun twice, lost count how many the other spun!!
