advise on a cortisone jab needed please......
...just been to the docs for a jab cos ive got carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS). he marked the inside of my wrist with pen then stuck the needle in. i screamed cos i got shooting pains up my thumb and ring finger, he explained that he hit the nerve by mistake....
before i left the surgery my hand was starting to go numb and my index finger was bent. the doc said it should be ok. while i was driving home my whole hand nearly was numb and the gear stick felt a funny shape.it is a bit like going to the dentist when your lips go numb from a jab. my hand is still numb, is this meant to happen or has the doc done something to my nerve that he shouldnt have done?:( my finger is still bent:Suspiciou |

Your hand may have fallen off before a SNetter with this specialist knowledge comes forward ;):p.

DISCLAIMER - this is only my opinion, if I'm wrong, and your hand falls off, it's nothing to do with me. |

are you a doc?:D The median nerve is the one in the carpal tunnel - and powers the muscles of your thumb and index finger, and provides the sensation to the thumb, index, miidle, and half of ring finger. So if you anaesthetise the nerve likely to get weakness of thumb and index finger, and loss of sensation. Yes, am a quack, would like to point out I'm still at work. |

Yes, am a quack, would like to point out I'm still at work. are you sitting in the surgery now or did you mean you still practice? deffo got no sensation in the fingers and palm ATM, i am walking around with my jeans undone cos i cant use my hand to do them up lol:p are you a good-looking GP:norty:.shall i lift my top up so you can look at my hand;):D isnt a quack a head doc:confused:.........shall i lay down:p |
