Hi
After speaking with frank(redwx) we were wondering if their would be any interest in having the BBO as a weekend event. We are trying to arrange a deal with Pontins Blackpool for a Fri - Sun deal. Their would be on site parking and it would be on a half board basis. Their is plenty of entertainment for adults and kids.
The weekend we are aiming for would be the Fri 14th October till Sun the 16th.
Could anyone interested please post.

That sounds like a good idea, not been to a pontins since I was a kid :)
Provisionally put me down, although I may struggle to do both nights due to work commitments. How about just the saturday night? Meet around dinnertime saturday at the pontins site, evening drink, bed, then playtime sunday till the meet sunday evening?

we would probably stay for the saturday night which we did last year, got commitments with pets. only prob last year was we couldn't join the convoys up to Blackpool.:( but still great fun.

Can't make it as a weekend event as we have to many pet to attend to at home !!

Thanks to JT, for doing some ground work with Pontins..... We will be speaking to them again, in the very near future, to see what kind of deals they can do, if we booked in numbers....and to see if they can do day rates etc, and hopefully that wil give us a couple of options. Clearly we are still in the early planning days yet.

Another option would be to try and see if they would give us a place to meet, and hold the meet there, so it would still be open to those just wanting to do the one day/ evening.

As far as the evening goes, that will happen. The date of Saturday October 15th is looking like the provisional date....for those wanting to plan ahead.


The response so far is overwhelming, so keep it up. And hopefully we can raise more then last year's £550 on the night.

Thoughts req'd - making a weekend of it ??
 

We have had the following reply from Pontins,

With reference to our telephone conversation of this morning.

I am afraid that at the moment I am struggling with both the weekend dates you
gave me.

The 21 October I mentioned this morning I am unable to do as this is Half Term
and we would fill for the 3 nights. The 28th is the same.

The 14th October we have a large event pencilled in that is taking over most of
the centre.

I have looked all around those dates and the only date that we would be able to
offer would be the

16 September 2005 for 2 nights. The lights are on on this date.


The rate for 2 nights half board would be £51.00 per adult and £25.50 per child.
This would be for the 2 nights including all meals. Arrival time 4.00pm on the
Friday. Departure time 10.00am on the Sunday. Use of the facilities and full
entertainment programme.

There is a possibility that I may also be able to offer the 30 September for
2nights but won't know this until a couple of weeks time.


obviously , for those who dont want to do this as a weekend event, there will still be plans to come up on the day - so no one misses out.


As you can see, we're heavily into gathering our options

Whats peoples views..???? would you be interested?
