bit difficult to tell really - you won't be knocked back by any performance gain here. I could hear the suction from the airbox a little more once fitted. Removed my airbox silencer recently and I can hear it even more :-).

PS. I have a green panel fitted.

i had one of these and to be honest i wasn't impressed, ended up binning it and bought a sti filter instead on a group buy, loads better filter.

jb2000 28 June 2005 01:29 AM

one 4 one against

green has been proven to be better on tests

the main point for changing is as follows easy to clean and as a bonus gives you a few more ponies

tsl (own blue ish filter)/extreme scoobies to add to the list

maybe it was oiled too much, sometimes they look very much like that when you take them out of the packaging.

Ordered from Scoobyparts. It was for my brothers scooby.

Im impressed with the one in mine, throttle is definatly more responsive and turbo appears to spool up better. Theres also the little ptttsh noise aswell lol.

As for power gains, i have no idea. But it definatly feels more responsive .

Scoobymag did a feature on filters and the green out performed the sti version .......infact the sti was down on power compared with the standard paper one......mind you this was on uk wrx.

Have green in mine and as 16vmarc says def more responsive.

does removing the silencer actually do anything? seen article on this before but is it really worth doing?

It feels like it has to me. Seems to extend the reach of the power into the latter rev range. Sounds better to.
