To replaced by someone even more left wing.
|
Who is more left-wing? Che Guevara is dead, so is Leon Trotsky...
|
|
Hopefully they can replace him with someone who can back us better. Mind you the other choice is meant to be a right nutter :Whatever_

Ha Ha - just been working with a Lead Fireman over the last 2 days.
He said that the strike did a HUGE amount of damage - it got everyone looking at their 1947 working practises!! YES, 1947!!! While the world moved on, the Fire Service milked the tits off the council tax payers ................. About time we tried to get value for money from the biggest bunch of scroungers this side of a Chav Council Estate The fireman I was with was a realist, he had 2 'other' jobs!! - he said he has seen ONE fire in 10 years!!!!! And TWO accidents have been attended, nothing bad (he said if it was bad they would all go off sick afterwards!!) He was brilliant! Pete |
Pete, hes probably been off sick with a bad back for for 9 years 360 days ;)

I've got those strange black bars coming across my screen again, I wonder if I am missing something? :D

Looks like the Fire Brigade's about to start of down the slippery slope to 'modernisation' then:( That means if you're middle class, and employed, you'll be straight onto the three week waiting list for having your house fire extinguished:( coz everyone is at the scrounging illegal immigrants house rescuing their flea ridden cat:mad:
We now have a modernised Police 'service', Healthcare system, Education system, and ambulance service. Do we really want to see half the firefighters on the ground laid off, in order to afford the extra five tiers of mannagement that always seem to be required during modernisation programs:( |
All we want is the FireFighters to do a fair days work ..... period!!

Like I said ...... I get it straight from the fishes mouth!! Firemen are NOT worked hard, its VERY unusual for them to actually see a fire - or car wreck for that matter!! The Fireman I know say that the station are always out fitting grannies their smoke alarms!! And quite why they think they are worth £30k a year beggars belief  Pete |
Obviously you know , or think you know, because you heard one mouth that you have met. Please dont generalise eveybody just because you have talked to 1 bloke. By the sound of it where you live must be a quiet area if he has not had any calls. doesnt mean the whole of the country is like this. I am a LFF and at the mo temporary sub o. My watch does a fair days work and always has irrespective of whether or not we have attended fire calls or rtas.
And besides dont just have a pop at firefighters, lets look at the whole british workforce . I see plenty of different working environments with cushty life styles, like sitting in front of computor all day, or building sites that spend most of the day wolf whistling chicks .Hmmm I feel there is always so much negativety from people who know very little although I know very little of you I presume you are one of those very people |
Wide ..... we are talking the Firefighters here, there are plenty of 'easy' jobs, but its the Firefighters that made a 'song and dance' about their pay for a part-time job!!
They brought it upon themselves!! They should have kept their big gobs shut!! You MUST agree its a piss easy job for big money!?? Surely to god! Pete |
at it again Pete ? ;) :D

Must have been interesting for you to hear what it sounds like!! ;) Pete |
I'd luv to know how they are able to sleep on their night shifts...????
Why not do fire checks at factories, schools etc while they are empty. Why do they neef to travell everywhere on blues and twos? Why decide to top the fire engines water, using a fire hydrant outside a busy night club at 2.00am in the morning - can't they go to a quite estate at this time. Attended a fire once, and called the fire brigade. They turned up and opened all the compartments of the engine. One had all different types of hose attachments, one had different tools etc and one had a tea & coffee machine....?????? WTF. Can any of you fire fighters on here justify your £30,000 pay rise request.. |
I think they should be done with a give them the £30k a year to be in line with other professionals.....but to be in line with the other professionals take their pension off em and let them set up their own private schemes. See how quick they are to take it up then.

First it was the teachers, now it is the firemen he is denigrating!
I seem to remember PSL saying that he couldn't understand how anyone could exist on a significantly greater wage than the firemen get too. That was when he was trying to impress us all how rich he is doing the part time job he tells us about. Time you got some consistency in your ramblings old chap! Les |

How long do you go at work before getting thirsty & need a brew? You can be stuck at an incident for hours sometimes & it might have happened just before you were due a break or interrupted your break or due to go home. Dehydration is obviously a big problem when you wear fire kit. [Quote=Daz34] Not very clever drinking tea and coffee when your dehydrated is it :D You might end up being off on the sick due to exhaustion for weeks on end on full pay. ;) |

Its the law??? Police work 12-14 hour shifts and we can't sleep on duty. Most factories and schools have 24 hour security, who know all the fire exits and alarms etc. They are always there when intruder alarms trip through the night and we can check the entire building, so why can't the fire brigade. There must be a more quieter place to fill up the engine. Trading estates etc. Most main roads are quiet at that time of night - but not the ones in the town centres. I often go a 12 hour shift with no meal or any other kind of break. It gets hot in our body armour as well and you can be stuck on a crime scene for hours - just stood melting. So can you justify your £30,000 pay request? |
Doesen't matter if it can be justified or not. It has been settled sp give it a rest.
You want to see your gaffers if you are working those hours without meals or breaks. They are taking the piss out of you ! |
