The old renault 5 GORDINI TURBO my mate had two of them.
Boy they went like $HIT OFF A STICK as they were only a 1400cc engine but what a car.:) :) One major problem like most early 80's french cars they are rot boxes and fall to peices!!:( |
erm, NO. they aint gordinis, turbo 2 more like.... the gordini was the thin reno 5. the wide arch was the turbo 2 rally replica...
and they aint rot boxes. there wont be many 20 year old subarus without rust on them when the time comes either ;) |
Nice motors those turbo2s, think they had 180bhp standard. That was pretty impressive in the early 80s for a roadcar.
|
nar Im sure it was just 120 as standard but the RWD and wide wheel span made them awsome round a track. still ver impressive for its time though.

Has a R5 on here too :) |
They had 160bhp as standard, IIRC :)
|
I never got to see the film so didn't see the car but it could have just as easily have been a Turbo 1.
Standard they were 160bhp Rally spec "Tour De Corse" they were 300bhp, 1397cc with a Garrett T3 turbo. There was a Maxi version but this was 1527cc and running a T4/3 Garrett plus other mods pumping out 350bhp. Having owned an Alpine Renault A110 I had a soft spot for these little gems and nearly bought one but the 6R4 won the toss. |
