Using a PS2 online
The general jist of my question is.....
I have a USB modem (tiscali) and want to get online with my PS2. To connect my PS2 to my ADSL filter via the network adaptor, I've been told that I need a router, one that has USB and Ethernet ports. Is it just as simple as pluging into the router and away I go, or is there more to this? Any help would be great |
Which version PS2 do you have?
|
The "old" PS2.....
Ive already got a network adaptor for it |
I'm using a Netgear DG834G you connect via the RJ45 ethernet cable (like you got with Network adaptor for PS2) into the router from the PS2. I had a USB modem and had to get a router. It is fairly easy to do. Have a look at www.playstation.com too

How much are these network adapters for ps2? Can u get wireless variants?
|
You need the network adaptors for old fat PS2's. £19.95 from John Lewis you can get them from most places on the Play.com etc. You still need router as well.
Slimline PS2 has network adaptor built in already. Andy. PS. I have both old fat and new slimline PSX in the house, kids use slimline one at same time as me and 2 PC's through the router. |
Yeh I have a router, how about this one?
http://shop.uk.playstation.com/sony/...t%5Fid=9406105 £16.99 Forgot to say how long are the cat5 cables included with the NA? I will prolly need a super long one, to reach the router :) Thx. |
Yes thats the one. There is no other than official Sony item which just plugs into rear of PS2 where it says expansion blanking plate of similar.
