RE070 - are they directional?

Simple question; are RE070 tyres directional? (They're not even listed on the Bridgestone site so don't know where to check?)

Many thanks

Just obtained a set on new car and they're 'sided' rather than 'directional'. In other words, the semi-slick part of the tread goes on the outside, while the conventional pattern is on the inner part of the wheel.

yoza 04 March 2005 01:44 PM

It says OUTSIDE.......on the outside, if it says OUTSIDE on the inside you got them on inside out, or ouside in....

Harry_Boy 04 March 2005 01:55 PM

Sometimes, when I park, they seem to be upside down.....:D

jmk 04 March 2005 02:01 PM

Thanks - got the outside / inside bit :-)

The tread looks directional though - but guess it mustn't be.

Isn't there a TV prog. called 'Inside out' ..? Didn't think it was about tyres though..!

I think mine have the 'OUTSIDE' on the wall and a direction arrow.

chris's scooby 04 March 2005 10:16 PM

AndyC_772's have "outside" written on them.

If you put the outside egde on the inside they'll be the wrong way round...

(That was a good write up in True Grip, Andy)

Toyo Proxes TS-1's or whatever they are called are directional.

The car had only done 150 miles when that pic was taken :D

AndyC_772 05 March 2005 12:02 AM

Actually I realised, the pic doesn't really answer the question - you do have to fit them the right way round (inside vs outside), but it's not clear whether or not there are dedicated left & right handed versions. Some versions of the Pirelli P-Zero certainly do come in l/h and r/h versions, but it's quite unusual.

I'll try and remember to check the car tomorrow and see.

Thanks :D

TonyBurns 05 March 2005 09:19 AM

They are not directional as such, say like the toyo T1s which has a directional tread pattern, but they do need to be put on with the outside marking to the outside.

Tony:D

AndyC_772 06 March 2005 03:04 PM

Agreed. Just checked, and whilst they have a distinct inside and outside, they don't come in l/h and r/h versions.

DPat 06 March 2005 05:23 PM

Not directional (have 'inside' written on the inside), but are these babies nervous or what
I'll have to scrub them in some more before I can let rip :(
