Ebay stop using pictures

seems crazy to me but now if you can't host your pictures you don't have the facility to have any with your adds.

never mind...

Since when?

MattN 09 February 2005 10:20 PM

trying to put one on now and the facility has gone.

You might need to upload some new software from ebay. This automatically becomes an option when listing. Perhaps your firewall won't allow it?

I listed an item last night without problem, and there are no announcements about it. It would be commercial suicide for them to withdraw the picture hosting facility.

Just checked it. All as it was, with pics being uploaded...........

i did the upgrade too no prob. or try saving pic to photobucket or something similar and then add attachment

scoobyboy 09 February 2005 11:06 PM

done one just now with a pic no probs at all and didn't have to download any new software either

MattN 09 February 2005 11:07 PM

no option to download the new bit of software.

However, swticing off the addblocker and deleting all temp internet files and cookies does resolve the issue. Weird, but working again!! :)

There's quite few postings on the forum about it now. Ironicly if I used ebay.com the option was always there, just not there when using .co.uk.

I've often thought of setting up a web page to show item pictures and just link it to my sale.
Is this a good idea do you think, and secondly,is there any way to set it up so that you can upload pics off a digi camera straight into the web page?

Fuzz 10 February 2005 07:27 PM

Yes paul as long as you have webspace of your own.

I use "gallery" a cgi script / program

http://cgi.ashlyn.plus.com/gallery/albums.php

there's a link to their website in the corner of the front page..

Once set up you just go to the site, login and upload direct from the page.. all nicely organises the pics for you too. :D
