STI Now Gone... Bring on the Spec B..

After a memorable drive to Bristol on Friday..I dropped off my STI at Tileys, and picked up my new Spec B :D :D :D

I now know what it's like to travel 1st Class.

18" 7 spoke Alloys as Standard

Not as quick as the STI I admit...but it is still a fun car to drive.

Anyone else out there tempted?

Looks nice Kyle :)

scooby L 07 February 2005 09:23 AM

well pleased with it mate....:)

Totally different world to the STI...

quiet, smooth but still quite rapid when you want it to be..:D

Cheers Gary,

People at the office are asking if I'm growing up at last....:freak3:

Till I tell them it's still got 246bhp...:D

duSTI 07 February 2005 02:34 PM

I like it Kyle, are you going to do any mods?

Jim

You're obviously a man with impeccable taste. ;)

Very nice in Silver, much easier to keep clean than my blacky.

I have some prices for axle back exhausts -

1. HKS Silent
http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/...1019-af010.pdf

Price: £373.00

2. FGK Wagolis
http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/sc-srch/p...00881&prodSET=

Price: £465.00

3. Blitz Nur Touring:
http://www.blitz-na.com/Blitz_Ex_Spec_T.htm

Price not available yet, but should be similar to the HKS.

All prices from - www.stiracing.com

Shipping from Japan to UK is about £150.

I'm waiting for the Blitz as I had one before on the STi and love the build quality.

G00ner 07 February 2005 02:52 PM

Hey!!! you have a 3.0R badge on the back... mine doesn't

Was that an option? ;)

scooby L 07 February 2005 03:32 PM

Dunno mate, was a demo and the sales guy who had it did get a few extras on it.

(tints, boot-tidy etc) so it may have been an addition..

I love the exhausts...may be something to do in the future, at the mo I'm happy with the smoothness (done the burble for 4 years and want a change.. :D)

Hi Jim,

I may do in a few months time....:Whatever_

I did the "mod" thing on my STI and I might try the "leave it well alone" phylosophy....:D

G00ner 07 February 2005 04:14 PM

I agree on having something quieter and I certainly don't want anything like my old Nur Spec R

But that flat 6 is a little too muted for my liking, it's a shame to have it quite so strangled, so a Blitz with a bung will suit me. :)

Very nice....you might want to think about blanking out the reg no. in the photo though.

Only one? :D:D

scooby L 08 February 2005 08:54 AM

I don't think fuel stations are close enough to each other for garrets.... :D

chrome 08 February 2005 12:29 PM

which turbo IS in the SpeCB?

amazed its only running around 280 brake..
Seems like LOTS of potential for the future :D :D :norty:
Wonder if there is space in the egine bay for modifiation?

fancy posting some engine bay pics??? :D

No turbo just a nice big 3litre flat 6:D

Hammoc 08 February 2005 01:44 PM

Very nice :thumb: ...often think 'I should grow up and have a sensible car'.

Those Spec Bs look like they fit the bill. 3 litre flat 6.......emmmm.
Bet the torque is nice and smooooooooooth.

For time being I'll stick with the flat 4 turbo....pop bang weeeeeeeeeeee :)

scooby L 08 February 2005 03:12 PM

torque is very impressive.. :D

I 24 hour test drove the JDM Spec B (GT-B RSK) 2.0 litre with twin scroll turbo before this UK one, and even though the turbo had more "go", the 3 litre is a lot easier to drive and sooo much smoother.

Plus you get ALL the goodies with the UK car for 27k (in this case 26k), and to get anywhere near that in the JDM, I was looking at 30k...:cuckoo:

chrome 08 February 2005 08:38 PM

ah right.. I was thinking of the Jap SpecB ;)

scooby L 09 February 2005 09:39 AM

Nothing wrong with the Jap spec model..... just a bit pricey if you wanted Leather,Sat Nav etc.. (not that you can get Sat Nav, because apparently it comes in Japanese.... :D)

One in Hendy's, tourer, black with Dark Anthasite PFF7 replica's, zero sport carbon grill etc, and AP break upgrade...looked loverly, but I think it was circa 29k (and it still was not leather or have Sat Nav).

I need toys.....:Whatever_
