tek 3 remap on a ppp??

can you tek 3 a 2003 sti ppp?? what sort of figures are you looking at after the map, and is it worth it?? i have a full de-cat blitz exhaust.

Sell the ECU for a standard one, and get that mapped instead. No point wasting a PPP ECU

It's what I did.

surely thats taking away 40bhp straight away? what sort of figures are you looking at after mapping on the standard ecu?

stevebt 06 February 2005 11:10 AM

TSL quote there remap on a 2003 model at 330/330 with the right supporting mods :)

RON 06 February 2005 11:11 AM

Mapping a standard ecu is no different than starting with a ppp one, they do away with the original map anyway, so the point is, you're throwing away a ppp ecu if you have it remapped, might aswell start with a standard one!!

marcyt21 06 February 2005 11:43 AM

is the ppp just a piggyback chip you can remove, or do you need to get a new standard chip

Scoobedoo 06 February 2005 12:49 PM

i thought the PPP ECU was the standard ECU remap'ed.... or so my dealer told me.

RON 06 February 2005 01:18 PM

the ppp is actually an sti ecu, thats then mapped for the uk cars, so if you're intending on getting a tek3 or similar, the best route is to seel it to someone with a standard ecu they can let you have in px!

Pogue 06 February 2005 01:19 PM

Can you just swap the ECU's or do you need to reprogram keys etc ?

RON 06 February 2005 01:21 PM

straight swap!!
edited to add, straight swap on my99's and 00's, not sure about earlier or later ones!!

Chelspeed 06 February 2005 01:21 PM

It varies. Up until the first half of 2002 the ppp was a unichip piggy back solder in modded job. After this, not sure of the exact date, the ppp was an ecutek remap of the standard ECU.
