The Uk's loudest Cortina (brown :D). Rover Sd1 dark destroyer. Lairy green Jettas, and not to mention Project Thunder that got smashed up by some **** who won it and counldn't drive. And I actually thought 3 spoke Antera Alloys looked cool 9for about 30 seconds :D )

;)

All crap now, just birds, neons, and who has the best B&Q DIY shelving on the boot!

Or my fave: Cars and Car Conversions, TripleC.

Once read an article in there:"Make your Mk1 Escort handle like a rally car for less than £50.

I followed it and it worked!!!:) Those were the days! You could open a car bonnet and understand what you were looking at!

The mesh was the same as fitted to the WR1 and I agree it's horrible - God knows what it would look like on a black car!
I've just made a mesh - sprayed satin black, which sits back where the plastic bit starts, it's noticable but not at all intrusive - just right.

Funnily enough I past one today - saw in my mirror that it had the chrome mesh.IMHO it doesn't work on a black car.:cuckoo:

Now Satin Black, thats a different thing altogether :)

Chelspeed 16 January 2005 05:48 PM

Totally agree. Got my WR1 on a Saturday. Took the grille off to be powdercoated black on the Monday. Looks fine now.

Surely only Pink or Gold would work on a WR Blue car :D LOL

Ask Mike Wood - He had one on his black MY03 STI PPP demo car ;)

Jasoon 16 January 2005 08:01 PM

There was an info sheet by the 05 STi on the subaru stand listing the mesh as a fitted option

Mica Blue 16 January 2005 08:38 PM

I think it also had WR1 wheels aswell? They were certainly Prodrive rims..

Phil 16 January 2005 08:41 PM
