Guys - it's a concept. Nothing more. Car companies make loads of these things. Most never even see the light of day. They may take the odd styling or design cue from this, but I doubt it will make it into production.

I think that's the problem though Chris - production cars take styling cues from concepts, and it's the styling that seems unpopular. If they want to produce a 3.0 twin turbo scooby then that's great (though some would complain about it being nose heavy or having a drop-off in mid range torque) - but I really don't want something in my garage that looks like it has an egg tooth!

"Subaru of America was awarded 75 large late last week under California’s Consumer Legal Remedies Act. A ballsy WRX owner tried to defraud Subaru in bringing the action against them, claiming that an alleged defective transmission in a 2002 Impreza WRX should be repaired or replaced under warranty. It’s not hard to speculate, at all: the owner most likely abused the car and busted his transmission, and was then trying to get Subaru to cover the cost of repairs. The $75,000 is meant to cover legal fees expended by Subaru in defending the case."

Well I was replying to the previous pic on the other page, but then got side tracked reading an article about the driver from america on one of the links from the concept article.

Some of the engine options could be interesting - but surely no Impreza driver is going to want a namby pamby design like that - i'm sticking with my bugeye and put morettes on it, or if I change, an MY05.

Hmm, I wonder how they came up with that design? I have two theories.

1) They made a model car out of plastic but left it in front of the radiator overnight before wending it off to be made into a prototype
2) They went to look up Alfa Romeo in the phonebook, but couldn't read and got Armitage Shanks instead.

Of course there is the usual theory involving large quantities of crack as well.

Am i right in thinking that the new Subaru designer is from alfa? im sure i read that somewhere.

Its such a bad move to start fitting these ugly front ends on all the cars. Do they not learn anything? Do they not remember realeasing the bug eye? And everyones initial impressions that the impreza was ruined?
Why do it all again??
Especially when all the press are saying bad things about the new look?
Classic Impreza looks to have been the best looking car Subaru will ever make!!
