As good old Victor would say -----

I dont beleeeeeeeeve it!

After years of procrastination and test drives - I finally flipped today - walked into a showroom :luvlove:and signed on the dotted -- talk about a wing and a prayer - paid minimal deposit, have an overdraft I can attack, but will still need considerable finance!

Anyone know any good lenders (personal loan type - not car linked)?

What is it?

WRX STi UK 03 in classic WRC colours.....that will do nicely!!

I've finally been and gone and done it!!

Congratulations mate! :D :D
I would've sorted the finance first though before signing on the dotted!
Lots of places doing good deals at around the 6.5% level. I can't think of any sites to point you towards at the moment though!

Don't Alliance & Leciester keep advertising in magazines (the bits that fall out...)? I'm sure their "Typical APR" is about 8%? I had an advert from Morgan Stanley (my credit card supplier) today for 7.9% on over £5000 loans. Or try Tesco; Asda; Sainsburys etc for loans - they all do competative APR. Don't rush into it it'll make a big difference over the months/years :eek2:

Halifax were advertising something like 6.5% when i was in there the other day. I think that rate runs until the end of the month so you'd be best to have a look at their website.

Have you got the insurance sorted out yet?

Tiredeyes 30 October 2004 08:45 PM

Northan rock loans
5.4 %
if you walk into your local bank, tell them you have seen NRock and they will give your loan, what is the best deal that you (your bank) can do.
done this twice with hsbc, at the start of the year, got 6.9% (the same as what sainsburys were doing !
sainsburys wouldnt give me the loan, so went to hsbc and told them i had got it, but would rather keep all my lendings and accounts & might even move my mortgage to them if they could help me out !
they said ok no problem, 6.9% on 15K loan ;-)
gota go down on monday and get me another 15K at 5.4 % for my wifes car
hopefully an alfa GT jtd 1.9
try it, they can only say no, or we can do it at 5.9%
give it a whirl

0845 is local rate wherever you are calling from. I think.... If so then good news, you owe them an apology.

I know you said not car linked finance, but my subaru dealer gave me finance on my 03sti at 6.5% matching the nationwide at the time.
I just printed off the nationwide quick quote form from the net and said match this or I'll go else ware :)

why

[meldrew]

Why would you want to spend money you don't have to buy a car?
