MY this MY that...

This might seem a daft question but how are you lot buying MY05 (manufacture year 2005) Scoobies when clearly it's 2004.

I think you're being misled ;)

MJW 14 October 2004 11:03 PM

It must be due to the time difference in Japan ;)

the model year comes out in the september or october? of the year before.

thats all i know!

The Japan MY starts 01/08 of each year, hence my MY97 P reg is actually November 1996, but could have been July 1997.

'MY this MY that... '

Better than using '$hite' terminology like;

Classic
Bugeye
Blobeye

Newage

WTF???

Jap2Scrap 15 October 2004 12:47 PM

Agreed Spen.. Just wondering how there can even be a MY05 when it's clearly not '05!

SPEN555 15 October 2004 12:51 PM

Jap2scrap,

At least the UK get next years car towards the end of the previous year.

Mad as ar$es in the states IIRC. Any car bought in the year is normally given next years MY???

I'd agree but not everybody knows the transition years (apart from sad anorak types, myself included) therefore the general descriptions you mention can be useful.
Apart from "bugeye" I prefer the name "f(cuking)ugly"
