Can i unlock these phones ?

Help needed :) please

I have got my hands on two new phones, one is a Motorola V300 (on T Mobile) The other is a Motorola V525 (On Vodafone). I had no choice of the network but i know my kids want a PAYG O2 sim card with the free texts thingy ;)

I'm giving them to my kids for their birthdays which are both end of the month :)

Can i, or does someone know if i can unlock these to any network without taking them to a "specialist"

BTW I know NOTHING about mobile phones other than you dial a number and it rings :D

You need a clip to unlock motorola phones.
Try your local phone shop, they should do it for a tenner.

Yep, the unlocking clip for V series models is around. Try an independent retailer but one that has the equipment on site.

Hi Jayce

I asked them and they said because they were specific phones for the network providers, it was against their policy to unlock them :(

There is a bloke who can do it but as you say charges a tenner to unlock. Just thought i could get away with £20.00 tbh, but if i need a "clip" then spose i'll have to :(

Cheers thanks :thumb:

BTW thanks for that freak it will come in handy that site ;)

OK, just to prove search works, I've tagged on the bottom of this thread rather than starting a new one ;)

Is it easy to unlock a Sony Ericsson T630? I'd like to buy one in the next few days, but they aren't available on my network in Portugal, only for another network.

I'm sure this is a stupid question and the answer's Yes, but it would be even stupider if I bought one and then found out the answer was No :D

Thanks

Brendan

...pur-leeeeease?

jaycee 26 October 2004 12:17 PM

Brendan, with the right equipment it can be unlocked. It's not as simple as unlocking a Nokia phone though and it needs some hardware plugging into the bottom of it to remove the 4 locks.

Thanks jaycee :thumb: I'll jump to the conclusion that someone in Portugal can do it, but perhaps I can just ring around for a few quotes first.

:)
