Constant crashing on AOL
Last couple months my laptop keeps crashing(blus screen then reboot) but it is only happening when I'm online. I use AOL 9. I've re-installed it etc but still happening.
Anyone heard of this one before. Cheers Alasdair |
I think the clue is in the question somewhere.............
|
I know AOL is causing it and have reported it to them but no joy. What I wanted to know was had anyone else had the same problem and been able to fix it.
Is the clue in the question again |
you could turn off the reboot on error , which *might* give you a clue as the which dll is causing the problem.
Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery ( untick the restart option ) |
I'm guessing it's AOL 9 bugs.
This really F*cked me off with AOL - always make it look as if it's a hardware fault - not their precious software. I'm a network engineer for a big telecoms company - and i still get some snotnose telling me i don't know what i'm doing. I eneded up getting rid of anythin that had AOL in it - including the registry. Then i re-installed the AOL 8 Broad Band pack that they sent with the kit - not had a problem since. Hope this helps. |

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery ( untick the restart option ) Always have a look at the errer report it wants to send to MS usually minidump and sysdata files are mentioned. Means sod all to me though. Alasdair |
