I thought Severn Motorsport built it. Doesn;t it have 500 bhp and NOS?

davegtt 10 September 2004 12:37 PM

theres a company that will put a escort cossie engine into ANYTHING with complete 4x4 drive train, its been done on a renault 5 before and it was a beast of a machine. cant remember the name but they are based in Ollerton IIRC.

Patt@firstime 10 September 2004 12:43 PM

It it's yellow with yellow and black Wolfrace Voodoo wheels then it's Severn Valley Motorsport

:)

DazW 10 September 2004 12:51 PM

It was silver with blue wheels ...still searching

Dave,

Anymore info? ...as thats what im kind of looking at doing ...just thinking about doing something a bit different! ;)

...& no, its not to a Nova! :D

David_Wallis 10 September 2004 01:49 PM

its not severn valley, its something like dp motorsport, (except not them! iyswim)
they did the R5 and a Puma iirc

davegtt 10 September 2004 01:58 PM

correct the puma is 1 of the recent creations IIRC. I'd ask on www.rtoc.org as Im sure some1 will know for definate but tbh, Im boycotting rtoc atm so theres no way Im gonna post on there sorry ;)

Will have a dig around some old files though, be back soon

davegtt 10 September 2004 03:16 PM

welcome, come on then, gonna let us into the bright idea you have in mind as to why u need them? ;) :D

DazW 10 September 2004 03:37 PM

Its not really a bright idea ...a m8 (who builds his own grass racers & sprint cars) has offered to lend his knowledge/garage & tools ...& i want to dabble under the bonnet a bit ;)

Ive a budget of £10-12K so could buy an Sti RA /GTiR /Gralé /Evo ...but i fancy getting me hands a bit more dirty than that ...& be a bit different! ;) ...so toying with the idea of raiding the ford parts bin! ;) ;)

mozzaITA 10 September 2004 06:26 PM

somebody i used to know had a 205 van with cossie runnin gear, that thing was awesome.... pitty he hasnt touched it in 3 years as he got into bikes.

class_A 10 September 2004 08:47 PM

Didn't Ford Racing offer a Puma Cosworth conversion using an Escort as a donor car? I remember seeing one on their stand at the Autosport show a few years ago.

Dave C. 10 September 2004 08:56 PM

Hi im in DERBY not seen that around!! if you know fitz at Top Boss im sure he will know who owns it.
A chap in Derby built a 205 cosworth van it was red and had dimma arches he owned Fast Lane Couriers he also had a standard lookin tranny van cossy powered but was later killed on a motor bike.

sti-04!! 10 September 2004 11:01 PM

I can recal looking a couple years ago at a cosworth powered puma, was getting it for a good price as the company had just built 6 of them & this was the last to go was pushing 400bhp in that little shell

Damn father wouldnt give me the money as i had just spent it on a Saph 4x4:norty:

bobfrog1 11 September 2004 01:24 PM

This is CCC's Feature on the Cossie KA

skoobidude 12 September 2004 11:28 AM

I think I may have seen that Ka in Derby too. It was been driven through Chad a few days ago. I heard the dump valve go off and though hmm, a Ka with a turbo?

Nick

David_Dickson 12 September 2004 09:03 PM

Blue Ka Turbo here...
ok, its not a Cosworth, but a great series of pics of the guy doing the conversion.
