Wie geht's? Wie ist das Wetter da heute?

Also, bis bald

keep it sensible;)

and a retort in german may help if it's rude pm me

Audi-Boy 18 July 2004 10:24 PM

Wie geht's? - 'how are you'

Wie ist das Wetter da heute? - 'how was the weather today'

If I cast my memory back two years .. my deutsch is a bit rusty ..
I think the bis bald bit is like a fairwell goodbye I think..

I used to wag school at least twice a week and go to my firends and play on the PS and get intoxicated on nasty substances (lynx deoderent is good if you inhale it well  ) and go back to school high.

And people ask me why I wish I was still there..:(

And another please;)

Hallo Beamer

Ja, ich spreche eigentlich fliessend Deutsch.

Wir sind aber nicht in Deutschland, sondern in die Schweiz! Die Temperature hier ist gut 35 Grad.

Wir sehen uns bald.

Tchüssli

Pixxie 19 July 2004 05:29 PM

Why are you talking about the weather to these people?

Brendan Hughes 19 July 2004 05:29 PM

It says "No beamer, we're not in Germany, but Switzerland! The temperature here is good, 35 degrees.

As agreed, if I send you a cheque for 8500 euro, my friend will collect the car. Is that OK? I don't mind if you wait for the cheque to clear.

The money is good as it belonged to my father, the late Prince Abasi Abasanjo of Switzerland."

Anything else?

First - Dieses Bier schmeckt vom Urin

A little later - Ich werde nicht getrunken

Later still - Entfernen Sie Ihre Hände mich, Fritz

When a little more "refreshed" - Wer den Krieg irgendwie gewann?

Afterwards - Wo das Krankenhaus ist?

I don't speak german, so used http://world.altavista.com/babelfish/tr to translate, got the jist of things, very good! :)

douglasb 19 July 2004 07:28 PM

I don't speak German either so I used Google's translate tool to translate some phrases into German. No doubt translating it back to English isn't going to provide perfect German, but as long as the meaning is fairly clear..... ;);)

beamer 19 July 2004 08:17 PM

found a translation site as well, and having great fun:D

Echo 19 July 2004 08:41 PM

http://www.babblefish.com is very good for translations.

beamer 19 July 2004 08:49 PM

Having great fun now:D

I used a Google translation thing to do my GCSE German coursework many moons ago.

I didnt get caught but i did get a crap mark of about 7/60

When i got it back the conversation went something like this:

Teacher: 'This is awful, you havent conjigated the verbs or used the correct tense or even the correct subject matter, its all wrong...'
Me: 'It cant be wrong i got it all from Goo.......erm... my textbook'
Teacher: 'Well, maybe you should try harder next time then'

Moral? Be VERY careful with the translations on Google!!

(Also, dont try to pull a fast one on your German coursework)

"Yes I do speak German fluently.
We not in Krautland, but in Switzerland. The temp. here is a good 35 degrees.

We'll see each other soon.

A little gay goodbye to you"

Leslie 20 July 2004 08:30 AM

"bis bald" is literally "until soon"
