Het fella,

I have an RA myslef it will cruise on the motorway at 80 doing in the region of 4000-5000 revs. The only downside is it doesn't have the longer 5th so is only good for 120mph. Or so I have been told as I do not condone speeding in the slightest

cheers mate.........5000rpm! @80mph ouch.

WaveyRA 05 July 2004 07:05 PM

at 80mph on my speedo im sitting at about 3600rpm, but if its 80mph on the gps im sitting at 4000rpm

Falkirk.scoob 05 July 2004 08:43 PM

would tend to think gps would me more accurate as its updated every second iirc

cheers guys.
may just buy the ra and hope i dont get fed up with the high revs.

stevebt 05 July 2004 08:45 PM

whats the big deal, if anything it might help you drive slower on the motorway :) bit i doubt it, not fitting too loud an exhaust is the key i think:)

my mate has the ra my94 and it is absolutley ballistic and it does top out about 120 but he selling it due to petrol cost. might be somthing to think about if u do mega m/miles

On the later RAs the gears aren't quite as short as the early ones. Mine's an MY99 and although the gearing is shorter than my old UK turbo it is quite happy trundling along the motorway.

I probably wouldn't use it for everyday motorway driving, however to say the acceleration is wicked is a total understatement :D:D:D
