Laptop does not boot to Windows

Me again!!! I love this forum!!! and YOU!!

My sisters laptop will not boot to windows....

When switched on it starts loading and then after a bit it shows a screen with an error message of something like CA00000021

Which I've looked up and referes to some sort of Driver missing.... but I am unavble to identfy how to rectify it....

She tells me she can get into the bios ....... can I 'reset' anything there to allow it to boot in SAFE mode???

(i'm not toooooo technical, but can follow instruction!! LOL)

It seems to have occurred after downloading some of the updates from windows update page........

is there a way to roll it back??

I pressume I can restore it if I can get into it....

XP pro, by the way

cheers

Phil

Any help GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!

once past the laptop's bios screen tap F8 - you might need to try a couple of times to catch it.

You then should be able to uninstall stuff. Try removing your anti-virus if the removing windows updates fail

If that fails need more info on error

If the above does not work, boot with XP cd in drive, set bios to boot cd as primary device, then use repair console option, then system restore from there.
