Just bought a Blitz boost gauge to fit into MY99. Can anybody tell me where do I connect the hose to? Is it the hose that hose that goes from wastegate solenoid to the turbo outlet and has a T-connector in the middle?

On my MY99 there is an outlet on the top of the inlet manifold covered with a rubber plug/bung.

Thats what I'd use. Boost pressure there should be the same as just after the turbo.

Don't you think the pressure in the inlet manifold is a little bit different than in the turbo outlet, since the air has to pass through the intercooler? As far as I know the ECU is connected to the turbo outlet. So, if the fuel cut engages at 1.2 bar, my boost gauge will show a little lower boost level at that moment, right?

If you connect the boost guage to the same tapping as the Map sensor using a Tee piece then you will read the same boost as the map which is what signals the ecu. Thats what I do. BTW connecting into the tapping in the inlet manifold thats been mentioned may cause the guage to pulse as the effect of the inlet valves opening and closing will be more noticeable. The degree depends on the guage and its damping.

I was thinking of fitting a boost gauge to MY93 WRX. Is there an existing hole through the bulkhead that can be used for the pipe or do you have to drill a new one? Don't fancy drilling it to be honest.

Bob, which one exactly is the MAP sensor's hose?

MarkF ... use the grommet that the speedo cable is fed through ... its just next to the clutch master cylinder.

Gevor, I have not looked closely at a MY99 but the map sensor is approx 25mm x 35 mm and is normally situated an the drivers side front strut turret under the bonnet. It will have a connector with three wires coming from it. A rubber pipe will be connected to it that feeds to a solenoid (shoulf be brown with a black steel frame, this solenoid will have a rubber pipe that then feeds back to the inlet manifold, thats the pipe I'm talking about.
