Ferrari- Cheats!

Nice discrete "mistake" there in the pits to try and guarentee Michael's 5th win in a row.

Tony MY03WRX 09 May 2004 02:28 PM

I agree m8 Rubbins always gets the ****y end of the stick!!!!!

yoza 09 May 2004 02:32 PM

Easy mistake that.

Someone comes in for tyres, and you forget to get them out.

They have got alot to do you know.......

wrxsmo 09 May 2004 02:34 PM

Oooh Michael won again. Zzzzzzzzz........zzzzz......zzzz

farmer1 09 May 2004 02:36 PM

hmm 20ish blokes all with 1 or 2 set jobs to do, which they do and practice all the time.

Yet somehow they happen to get it wrong when it is needed to be right. Personally I think it equates to race fixing and they should be fined and stripped of points

Bravo2zero_sps 09 May 2004 02:39 PM

I think its cheating the fact the car can be reprogrammed for Schumacher after his exhaust broke. Its not about driving any more, its about who has the best computers, programmers and analysts. If something breaks then it should be fixed in the pits or the driver retires. Its then about the cars and the drivers skill.

The only way to make it interesting again is to 1) find some decent drivers that are of the Senna/Prost/Mansell quality and 2) take away all the bloody computers and make them drive the car instead of being remote controlled by a bunch of pcs

Everytime I watch F1 (which is very rare these days) it bores me senseless and the only thing I pay any attention to is the start where I always hope for Montoya to t-bone schumachers car on the first bend :D

Buckrogers 09 May 2004 02:40 PM

Bit like when Irvine came in for 4 tyres, but only got 3...cost him and Ferrari the drivers champ, but then it was not Micheal....

SideShowBob 09 May 2004 02:43 PM

I agree with all the above points, but would like to thank the cheating b*stards, as I made £2 betting MS would win again.
Imagine betting against that!! The blokes 2 quid was mine before the lights went green.

elgordano 09 May 2004 03:12 PM

Everyone hates succesfull teams......that's why you all hate Man Utd as well.

Scoob99 09 May 2004 03:12 PM

Dirty cheating twats, their should be an enquiry.

elgordano 09 May 2004 03:23 PM

I think its cheating the fact the car can be reprogrammed for Schumacher
the other teams do this as well you know !!

Tiggs 09 May 2004 03:24 PM

team sport.....dont like it dont watch it (i dont...boring stuff) I dont watch football either but if i did i wouldnt moan about how the team got the goals or who got them- no I in team!

T

ps (no I but there is an M and an E if you look hard!)

Brun 09 May 2004 06:10 PM

The long and short of it is that MS would have won anyway. He is streets ahead of RB :)

i don't remember Man. Utd. winning the championship this year ;) :D

Cornelius 09 May 2004 06:17 PM

they should strip the cars of all the electronic wizardry, forget adaptive damping, go completely back to basics, make them all run on carburettors!!
I used to follow F1, and Micheal S was my idol, but it's getting very boring with him winning race after race, the rules should be changed to make the sport more competitive, that way, they'll get back the "frustrated fans" and will win over new fans as the sport won't be as predictive

RB5SCOTT 09 May 2004 06:21 PM

F1 is boring but thats not Ferrari's fault and definately not Schumacer's fault!!!!!!!!!!!

SideShowBob 09 May 2004 06:33 PM

Cant begrudge Schue his success, he is simply the best, and has helped develope the best team.
Not sure why the others cant keep up, a lot of the top teams have similar budgets, so it has to be a case that ferrari/Schue are just simply better.

I agree all the electronics are a negative thing, and should be removed, but if Button had had an exhaust go while running at the front, and Honda had used some electronic wizadry to let him still win the race, we'd probably be praising the system, all the teams have an equal chance regardless of whats allowed or not, I just wish one of them would start challenging so it became less boring, you never see a good battle for the lead anymore.

Brun 09 May 2004 06:36 PM

MS is the best! Lets not forget that he was certainly not in the best car when he won his first championship :)
That was early days in his career, just think how much better he is now!

MooseRacer 09 May 2004 06:36 PM

Flavio Briattore summed it up well - it's not Schumacher's fault it's so boring, it's the rest of them for not raising their game(s) and taking the fight to him and Ferrari.

I don't subscribe to the English way of hating someone successful ;)

tiggers 09 May 2004 06:52 PM

The usual casual armchair fans who know precious little about the sport chipping in with the rhethoric they've picked up from the likes of The Sun and Conspiracy Theory weekly.

Stick to football - at least you seem to understand that mainly because there's precious little to understand.

And once again this is posted in the wrong forum!!

MooseRacer 09 May 2004 06:56 PM

Of all the F1 enthusiasts in the world, all bar a couple of hundred are armchair fans tiggers :p

tiggers 09 May 2004 06:58 PM

That's funny as when I was sat at Indy last year there were nearly 130,000 other people watching the race and not one of them was in an armchair ;)

farmer1 09 May 2004 07:02 PM

It really doesn't bother me who wins, whether it is michael schumacher or ferrari everyweek.

I just felt it was a bit conveinient that a mistake was made....

mart360 09 May 2004 08:00 PM

Agree with b20.... its not the drivers ability any more its who,s got the most money and the most advanced car....

they brag about how they are introducing this and refining that and measuring x to prove the races are not fixed and the drivers all start on the same level............... tosh

fancy using a £20 chunk of wood to slow cars down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what divine wisdom was used to do that.... and putting grooves in the tyres

jesus these numptys get millions for these pants ideas!!!

if you want to bring F1 back to what it should be ... ie racing...
#
the following needs to be implemented.

1) see all the fancy red and white rumble strips on the edges of the now everwidened corners... get rid of them!!!! just have grass or kitty litter.
if a driver is faced with an off situation he will either drive slower (enables the others to catch up) or use his ability as a driver...

2) remove any onboard telematary data and the abitlity for the car to be tweaked on the move..... it is as far as i know not legal now... but can anyone prove its not used..

3) give them one engine per race... qualifying and track days ..

4) if your car blows up .... tough... you dont get your team mates car just cos you are number one...

5) if any driver fails to challange or overtake in any race ....black flag!!!

6) any driver who gains more than 30 seconds lead will be pitted for 20 secs...

Titanium flame suit on....

oh and i forgot racing .. thats what mansell and senna used to do...

will m schumaker do a stint in indy and win the championship on his first season...... dont thinks so.....

mart

farmer1 09 May 2004 08:25 PM

6) any driver who gains more than 30 seconds lead will be pitted for 20 secs...
Sorry but that rule is a tad gay, that isn't exactly racing.

Bravo2zero_sps 09 May 2004 08:45 PM

The usual casual armchair fans who know precious little about the sport chipping in with the rhethoric they've picked up from the likes of The Sun and Conspiracy Theory weekly.
Oh sorry how we must bow to your superior knowledge and opinions of what to most has become a dull and boring sport  Funny you will find that the majority of formula 1 fans are armchair fans as the majority can not travel the world to see the races - and for most you get a much better view on the television than being there anyway  Funny last time I picked up a paper it certainly wasn't the sun and I never read about formula one in any of the press anyway so misjudge away Tiggers

And yes I have been to f1 - I went to the last race at Brands where Mansell won and I was a guest of Jaguar so had a fantastic time and wont ever forget the atmosphere. However I wouldn't waste my time going now as its so tedious compared to what it was back then.

Chrisgr31 09 May 2004 08:49 PM

F1 is boring these days because the best driver is in the best car, and it is ridicously reliable as well.

You just know that if MS is on pole he will win, in fact if he is anywhere near the front he will win. Its up to the others to improve, although boring waiting for it to happen!

tiggers 09 May 2004 09:08 PM

B20 - if you find it a dull and boring sport why comment on it.

I also stick by my statement - if people think Ferrari are cheating based on today's performance then they know nothing about the sport other than what they read in press such as The Sun (note the such as - you missed it last time). So you are more than welcome to bow down to my superior knowledge and intellect on this subject - on you go!!

farmer1 09 May 2004 09:12 PM

Once again you seem to be missing the point.

f people think Ferrari are cheating based on today's performance
I don't think they are cheating based on the performance. Granted they are the best team and they deserve to win. I just think they are manipulating the results within there team to break records.

ProperCharlie 09 May 2004 09:20 PM

personally, i think MS is the best driver of his generation - i don't begrudge him winning. it was more fun to watch when he had to push people off the track or drive round them to win - now he is usually in a race of his own. i would like to see what he would be like if in, say, a maclaren. i still think he would show those drivers a thing or two. it's just a shame that other teams haven't been able to keep up with ferrari's standards. remember, when MS joined ferrari, they were a joke team who rarely got thier cars home.
