Well,

I've finally got myself some 4 pots off a P1, including the OE pads, now I'm after some discs for the setup. I'll be installing braided hoses, and may go for the brake cylinder support bracket as well.

Some opinions on which disc package to go for would be appreciated. The car probably wont be used on track, only road, but I do tend to be hard on brakes, and performance is an issue.

Thanks for the replies - I was considering Pagid discs, but I wasn't convinced that spending £200+ for a set of discs was the way to go. Ian at Godspeed informs me that I can get a set for around £150, and I'm seriously considering this as an option.

We can offer you either a one piece disc either Cross drilled , Grooved or both ,Prices start at £150 a pair , Or a pair of discs and bells that are direct replacement to the original 294mm disc , These are £350 a pair , The discs and bells will take a lot more stick than the one piece discs , And when they will eventually need changing you only need the outer part as the bell is used over and over again , If your after looks aswell they look a lot better behind the wheels , Ian ,

SS quoted 410+vat for the kit including delivery but NOT fitting, so I don't know if prices have changed...

Sorely tempted by this when I need new discs/pads in the next few months. Hopefully it looks a cheap and effective upgrade.

Ian: in the future, what discs/pads would I need for replacements?

Do you do a disc and separate bell combination to fit the Prodrive/Alcon kit on the Impreza. As you know the Prodrive supplied ones are one piece.

I'd really like to see a comparison between these two set-ups (SS/GodSpeed), but Ian's seems quite rare at the moment. I've got a feeling it could become very popular very quickly as a quick and cheap brake upgrade if it's effective and gives better feel.

To add to the confusion, anyone used the TSL motorsport solution? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif That's another one on the list for the same-ish price fitted which uses a custom Ferodo DS4003 pad...

We can supply this diameter disc , do you know how thick it is ? With the regards to comparing the 335mm discs against a 294mm disc there is no contest , The bigger disc will knock spots off the 294mm discs , You would be very hard pushed to feel a difference between our 335mm kit with standard 4 pots and a 330mm AP kit , If you drove two cars with these kits fitted you would not tell the difference , For anyone who has 18" wheels fitted we also supply a 355mm disc and bell set up , But these are too big to use with the standard four pots ! The 2 pot set up is 300+vat and the 4 pot set up is 400+vat.

The kits are discs and pads for the front, 4 Goodridge TUV spec lines and Silkolene Pro Race brake fluid.

We charge 70+vat to fit a kit.

Will somebody take Ian Godney up on his offer? I think it's time his kit was given a chance to prove itself. He's had a rough ride on here before when threads got off on the wrong foot. He's making bold claims, but also firm assurances.

It sounds pretty good to me, and good value. The main difference is the use of alloy mounting bells. This is a key feature only shared with APR kits that I know of. It's a major safeguard against warping, and obviously saves a lot of weight.

Furthermore, if you check out the Scoobysport link on the post above from Pete Croney (thanks Pete http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ) another advantage of alloy bells is that they protect the bearings from overheating.
