Checking oil levels
 

Should oil levels be checked when it's hot/cold or in-between?
Only asking as car (MY99) has just been serviced somewhere new and am wondering if they've overfilled it slightly as it seems to be hesitating between 2000-3000rpm more than it usually does.

After the car reaches normal engine temperature. Shut off and wait at least 5 min. Do not overfill. Max 4.5 l
