Fastshow 1/4 mile times

Come on then guys....what did you all run today?

I am absolutely chuffed to bits with my first (EVER) run of 13.9 in my 03 UK WRX, as it should not have been that fast i didnt think!!! and i think humbled a number of STIs :)

Excellent day out though, really did enjoy it!

Neil.

Neilo 28 March 2004 07:31 PM

i saw a bigger one on a saxo that ran before me on my last run ;)

Neilo 28 March 2004 07:32 PM

clutch is fine, shagged 4th gear on my last run though.......think the syncro has gone (2nd time since ive had the car....) that gear seems to be very weak compared to the others.

Frenchboy, i think your running after me next week at G-force :) im interested to see what your PPP runs.

Neil.

FrenchBoy 28 March 2004 07:36 PM

I'll look forward to seeing this wonder scoob next week at G- Force!!

Crazyenglishman,

uh-oh! at least i have a full week to prepare myself for the inevitable feelings of inadequacy!! :D

Neilo 28 March 2004 07:47 PM

ill take my filter off and put the standard one back on if you like ;) that was obviously giving me about 80bhp ;)

Neil.

FrenchBoy 28 March 2004 07:49 PM

LOL :D ;)

Neilo 28 March 2004 07:51 PM

come on there were about 150 scoobs there.......any more times?

ChungsterSTI 28 March 2004 07:54 PM

I was there.

Fastest Scoob i saw I think was a 12.9.

Fensports 500+bhp Corolla was doing 11.2s. Well impressive.

But that Jet Car was just awesome! :D

Neilo 28 March 2004 07:58 PM

nice to know i was only a second slower than the fastest one then in a standard UK car!!!

"back of the net......"

Well it took me about 120 secs to get to the banking and back to scooby because it was that damn cold there. Good time that, i noticed the classic's were putting in better times today. it was nice to see a black STI classic teach a new M3 a lesson in manners after the M3 had a two car lengh at the start! Well done to that man.

Neilo 28 March 2004 08:08 PM

have to ask....how did the M3 get 2 car lengths at the start???

Also i did notice that several M5s were running and they were only hitting the low 14's.....I shall now not fear them ;)

Thunder 28 March 2004 08:21 PM

Well as with quite a few Scoobs it "Bogged" down at the start and the M3 had a better takeoff which was a surprise as the FWD and RWD were spinning quite alot, the 1st gear is awesome to see, leaves most things behind. I also saw a 911 there, not sure if Turbo or not but it didn't impress i think the driver needed a bit more aggression.

Neilo 28 March 2004 08:26 PM

The 911 was a GT2 (so yes very much a turbo) driven by a young lady apparently who had never driven it before...hence the time.

All good fun though!

Thunder 28 March 2004 08:35 PM

Oh yes all good safe fun and good ol girl having a go in the GT2, it's nice to see those type of cars. The Noble seemed not to deliver also, i suppose practice makes perfect but in your case damn good run!

*Sonic* 28 March 2004 08:37 PM

some scoobs where spinning a lot too, (ask Peccy :D)

Thunder 28 March 2004 08:44 PM

I wasn't going to mention that coz thats where the others can light them up to get the heat in to them, not really advisable in the AWD. What sort of techniques were being used? Anyone?

Neilo 28 March 2004 08:47 PM

just launch at about 5-5.5k and hope your gearchanges are smooth!!!

Thunder 28 March 2004 08:53 PM

I see i think i was expecting loads of revs dump the clutch but it appears smooooooth is the way to go, tyre/grip trade off i suppose. What sort of rubber have you got?
