Mapping and power run at Power Engineering
 

I just had my car remapped today by Pat. It's been a slow process getting the car just right, but I think we're there now (finished mapping on the rollers at Power Engineering).

The spec of the car is as follows...

• UK MY00 Turbo
• VF35 turbo
• APS FMIC
• APS cold air induction
• FSE fuel pump and regulator (pressure: 4 bar)
• Original 440 injectors
• Gruppe-S headers (version 2, with smaller collector and flexi up-pipe)
• Full Scoobysport exhaust

The car feels very eager to 'go', yet can be driven very smoothly. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it's worked out. Much credit to Pat! Also thanks to Merv today. :)

The numbers: 345 bhp at 6380 rpm and 314 lbs/ft torque at 1.4 bar boost.

I understand that PEs rollers are known for being a little 'generous'. In percentage terms, what difference would you expect between 'generous' and 'conservative' rollers?

Yes, I know it's just a benchmark...

People say that and I believe it used to be the case. However, on every visit, I've seen a bog standard car make 211-5 (or a.n.other make of standard car hit it's exact numbers) which makes me think these days, the optimistic figure is a little un-fair.....

Great result.
I have a similar spec minus the FMI and remap.
What is the spool up point on the VF35.
I get full boost at probably 3200ish and starts coming in at about 2800.
Link, injectors and a fmi are on the list this year.

MarkT - I'm not 'used' to the car since the remap (<24hrs old), but from the graph the torque kicks in at circa 3,000 rpm. Peak torque (and, I imagine, peak boost) is at 4,500 rpm. I imagine that the boost would have come in sooner, were it not for the fact that I'm using tubular headers and a fairly large FMIC.

Ted Ed: I bought the Turbo from a firm in the States. I think it was XX-Tuning (http://store.xxtuning.com/product_in...products_id=83). The APS FMIC came from Wallace Performance (http://www.wallaceperformance.co.uk/). The headers came from Gruppe-S (http://www.gruppe-s.com/Subaru/subex.htm) - for which I organised a group buy last summer. The garage work was done by ScoobySport.
