Where can i get a dump valve for the 1.8t in the north west supplied, also with free fitting?

Gastro 22 January 2004 07:52 AM

Why ?
So the passat can go whooooooshhhhhhhhhh every time you take your foot off the pedal ? ;)

I was told the other day by a VW enthusiast that the VAG 1.8T doesn't like VTA dv's

Cupramax 22 January 2004 10:16 AM

And they were quite correct. No wooshy ones on the 1.8T.

A mate of mine put one on A4 1.8T and it sounded like a goat, no wooooosh or ptshhhh, just made a deep honking noise, nearly wet masel cause he was all excited waiting for it to dump and that came out, am laughing just remembering it again

You CAN have a VTA dump valve on the 1.8T's BUT the only work if the car is STANDARD :)

Whoooah, your wrong. The 1.8T uses a recirculating dump valve, not an atmospheric dump valve. The atmospheric is not suitable as it messes up the maf ive been told.

The whooosshhhh on a recirculating dv is less audible than the atmospheric but much louder than the o.e. dv.

jabbasport down south fit them free of charge but it wouldnt be worth the petrol.

I've provided a BOV to a guy with a 1.8T golf. I adapted a Blitz SS BOV for it, the Blitz is adjustable to be closed on idle so no stalling issues. Was quite a success aparantly:)

Why dont you log onto Seatenthusiasts or Seatcupra.net ;)

depends on the ECU of the car. I know a guy who runs an APR chipped Golf with a Blitz Supersound DV which was actually meant for a Scoob STI V4... all it needs is a bung for the "spare" hose that is left unused...

I have never risked it and run a Hyperboost (recirc) DV on my Golf. You can buy my DV if you want - £7900 and I'll even throw in the Golf GTI! :D With a decent CAI (cold air intake) or Green Dynatwist, you can hear a "woosh" when you lift off on boost - it's nothing compared to a proper VTA DV but you get something... SaxoBoy loved mine when he drove my car :)

Seriously, they take all of 5 mins to swap and it is just 3 jubilee clips to do it - don't pay someone to do it ;)

LMAO :D Nice approach :)

Mikes DV is very quiet and subtle but sort of sounds like Darth Vader breathing - :D
