Just purchased a DVD burner and installed in my PC. I can get it to play ordinary CD's and DVD's and also burns data etc etc, but I cannot get it to "backup" any original DVD films. Its the only CD drive in the PC and so, I have to copy to the hard disk first. Whenever I try to do this, I receive an error message "Copyright protected - cannot copy DVD" -
Is there a way around this ? All advice welcome [Edited by Mr Gee - 1/5/2004 4:51:37 PM] |

copying dvds is illegal;) but you can back up your copy of a dvd with dvdxcopy or dvddecrypter and dvd2one:D

What software are you using.

I'd go with Haxer on the DVDXCOPY... couldn't imagine what the "Special Version" is ?! ;) Best version to go for is Platinum, hopefully this (along with something else) is what Haxer was on about.
