At work now doing some CCTV monitoring - well looking at ebay other sites, if I'm honest.

Triple time is nice, though.

Zeolite 25 December 2003 01:45 AM

I get my dinner at 23:30 tonight by the way. I will be sleeping my way through all that Xmas day stuff. I doubt that I am missing much.

What trimmings do you get with lasagne?

fatherpierre 25 December 2003 01:49 AM

Some of that stinking sick/sweaty feet smelling cheese LOL

We miss the boredom by sleeping through it all ;)

CharlesW 25 December 2003 07:07 AM

Yes. I am also digging holes in the middle of the North Sea.

Gastro 25 December 2003 09:28 PM

24 hr shifts are nothing..
12months ago - I used to 56 hour shift - non-stop (Sat, Sun then home at 5pm Monday).

Its so refreshing that the government deemed healthcare professionals should come into line with European working rules 2 years after they were set ;)

Gastro
only 14 hours to go..

Zeolite 25 December 2003 11:03 PM

Used to do one man jobs out on the rigs. had me up and awake for up to 48 hours at a time. Bloody dangerous! Kept falling down stairs. Stopped us doing it and quite right too. As for docs treating me after 20 hours with no sleep? I would ask for a 2nd opinion cos I know what it is like to be short of sleep.
No offence Gastro but it is just plain wrong!

ADP 26 December 2003 12:13 AM

being awake for long periods does send you off it. I can be up for about 36 hours some time if I do a night shift then dont go home to bed................I feel very spaced at that the end of it.........56 is just not right.

00:15 and I want to go home grrrrrrrrrr, mental note to self get new non shift based job

Zeolite 26 December 2003 12:22 AM

Not having a good day. Nearly total disaster but now retrieved now can't get some telemetry to work. Least I got my Xmas dinner and it was quite nice.
