hi have just got my new toy a sti v2 it has a stainless on with no cats sounds great.
but i want to no if it back fires a lot is this normal?
seems to do it most times when coming of the loud pedal

Mine does it a bit, and that's only with a de-cat downpipe..

Yes, my Sti V3 with full Magnex decat pops, sounds good to me too, happens coming off the pedel from high revs (8000)...........

Catted cars can run rich to help cool the cats - I think.
Now that you have no cats, the unburnt fuel will stay in the pipe and occasionally go pop.
Shouldn't be anything to worry about - unless it is really excessive.

You may reduce the amount of popping with an ECU remap - I guess that could change the fuelling....
