Why did you choose Magnex over Scoobysport?
|
Because it is still straight through, but has a resonator in the pipe that stops some of the boomy noise - still sounds good though. Also because its removeable when I sell the car and the cat can be put back on, where Scoobysport cut the cat out and replace it with a piece of pipe. Bought mine from Falkland, got 10% discount and it arrived the next day. Very easy fit with instructions and nuts/bolts etc, not that I fitted mine but the guy who did said it took him 10 mins, he was impressed. I have a MY00 by the way.

Or on the other hand the Road Runner (Nottingham) supplied Magnex mid section don't have the res and the sound produced differs from the SS mid section, yes still loud.
Also the SS is a modification of your standard pipe.Magnex is a replacement. ...Ian (Magnex straight through no res box and Happy) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif |
Magnex midsection with resonator. Chosen because i've had magnex before and have absolute faith in their quality and performance. (No disrespect Pete and Co). Also can replace centre CAT if required.

same reasons as Lord Lucan above
The magnex nuts dont fit correctly Just buy one and stop pissing about Andrei http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif [This message has been edited by sunilp (edited 05 August 2000).] |
I have the 3.5" Round as well as the decat pipe with resonator box looks and sound the dogs nuts pics on my web site
The best place to buy it from,is as most people will say is Roadrunners Ps. I have a friend that has a Stainless steel system He thinks it could be a Magnex or Prodrive system he is not sure it's 3.5" bore and 4.5 round tail pipe and straight through decat pipe wants approx £180 as new Huxley |
I chose neither and went for a scorpion because..
1) Trully straight through. just a 2.5" pipe, not cat, no box/silencer/resonator... 2) Cheaper as only cost £69 for new pipe (means still got old pipe 'just in case') 3) instant supply, both magnex and SS were quoting 3 weeks+ at the time. Fitting took 20 mins (and cost £10), good performance increase http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif , great audible increase http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif , great flames http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif (although downpipe is biggest factor in that), no 'booming', no downsides http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif |
