I've read how anti-lag can be made to work by not igniting mixture during a firing stroke and therefore 'afterburning it' in the exhaust headers/up-pipe.

Are there other options to achieve a similar result for a road car without having to bung unburnt or partially burnt mixture through the engine?

Vindaloo.

The fuel burns on the turbine blades, accelerating it. I think one of the F1 turbo cars from the 80's used an injector just before the turbo to do this, (the so called 5-stroke engine ;) ), and i've heard of injecting nos there too, but i also heard that don't work :p

I suppose i could have just said, erm... No :D (for proper anti-lag)
