What size engine is the Norris Evo?

R.B 23 November 2003 06:38 PM

What size engine is the Norris Evo? Think its a 2.2

pat 23 November 2003 07:54 PM

Excellent result Harvey :)

You must be bouncing off the flow limit of your injectors at that kind of output, I know we were pretty much maxing out 740 Phase II injectors on the dyno making 555 BHP...

Something confuses me though. Peak power happened at 6933 RPM, but the boost isn't stated explicitly. I'll assume it's 1.85 bar or more (previous stated boost). At this, and assuming 100% efficiency for the heads and intercooler, we get 696 CFM airflow, now if we divide that by the horsepower we get 1.19 CFM/BHP which is extraordinarily efficient, far more so than one would normally expect with road fuel. I must be going wrong somewhere, maybe you're running more boost now or perhaps it's running an oxygenated fuel / giggle gas ?

At any rate, the bar has been upped again, next logical target is to exceed 600 BHP on the Well Lane rollers... at this rate someone might actually beat me to the 750 BHP target I have set for my "Whacky Races" project car  ;)

Cheers,

Pat.

You were right, I was well chuffed.
But there is more to come as I was running with a blown gasket.
Cheers

I was under the impresion Harvey has already said he uses a control fuel such as Elf Turbo Max when he runs on the RR. I know if i were trying to gain these kind of figures i certainly wouldnt trust the fuel from my local petrol station. Thats why when any serious motorsport competitor runs their cars they also run a control fuel, we did with our Rally winning Escort Cosworth, to run normal SUL would have been madness and almost guarantee a meltdown at those levels of engine tuning.

Well done Harvey, incredible results from a 2 litre Impreza.
